First of all, the models are different, and the size of the 5050 is larger. The overall size of 3030 is only 3mm*3mm*0.52mm. The wavelength coverage is basically the same, the number of pins is different, and the 5050 is six solder fillets. Different manufacturers have different materials for cooling brackets. General manufacturers are producing two models of 3030 and 5050.

The working principle of an RGB LED is actually quite simple. Each LED has two leads, one positive and one negative. The positive lead is called the anode and the negative lead is called the cathode. When current flows through the LED from the anode to the cathode, electrons flow from the negative lead to the positive lead and energy is released in the form of photons (light).

The amount of current that flows through an LED determines how bright it will be. If we want to change the color of light that an RGB LED emits, all we need to do is change the proportion of currents flowing through each LED. For example, if we want more red light and less green and blue light, we would increase the current flowing through the red LED while decreasing the currents flowing through the green and blue LEDs.
